Artist Background
Marcy Kaplan is a Connecticut native, and the artist and creative force behind Serial Quiller Creations, where she transforms simple strips of paper into intricate, dimensional work of art through the centuries-old technique of paper quilling.
An art enthusiast since childhood, Marcy has always been drawn to the joy of creating with her hands. Her passion for paper quilling grew into a creative business dedicated not only to creating beautiful artwork, but also to sharing the art form with others.
With a background as a licensed social worker of nearly 30 years, Marcy brings a unique perspective to her teaching. She believes creativity can be a powerful way to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and experience the simple satisfaction of making something beautiful. Her classes are designed to be welcoming and inspiring, encouraging students of all experience levels to discover their own creativity.
Through Serial Quiller Creations, Marcy teaches a wide variety of quilling techniques and designs, from delicate florals and seasonal artwork to coastal scenes, wildlife, jewelry, and intricate dimensional pieces. She offers classes in a variety of settings, including wineries, cideries, breweries, senior centers, and other creative spaces, bringing people together through art and connection.
Whether she is teaching a first-time quiller how to shape their very first coil or helping an experienced artist explore a new technique, Marcy’s goal is always the same: to make art approachable, joyful, and something everyone can enjoy.
For Marcy, paper quilling is more than a craft—it’s a way to turn a simple piece of paper into something extraordinary, one coil at a time.
